There is a saying in the artificial turf  industry:”If you can walk it, we can turf it!” So in another word, you pretty much can install artificial grass at most sloped or terrain areas. Couple of things you need to pay attentions while installing turf on slopes or terrains:

1. Regardless the slope or terrain, you still need to make sure the sub base surfaces are smooth and compacted.

2. If the slope is steep, you need to be aware that your infills might be washed away easily especially in the rainy areas, so you might have to add more infills from time to time. Or people use minimum infills to start with in such areas.

The polyurethane glue we use for our artificial grass products are very strong! We call the glue layer of artificial grass “secondary backing” which serves the purpose of not only holding the grass fibers together, but also provide extra stability. The polyurethane glue won’t react to moistures, so it will last you a long time even it directly touching the ground. To measure the strength of the polyurethane glue on artificial grass, the industry has a specific term for it: Tuft Bind. The higher the tuft bind number, the better holds it provides. You can find the tuft bind testing data on all our artificial grass products on our website at this link, once on this page, click on the product name and you will see a window with all categories showing up and you can click on the tuft bind testing: https://www.globalsynturf.com/artificial-grass-specifications-specs.

Our average tuft bind is about 10-12 lbs which is really way above the industry standard (The industry standard is at about 7-8 lbs).

To answer your second part of the questions, the polyurethane glue does get a bit stiffer during the cold weather and softer during hot weather, but once installed, the glue will be underneath facing the ground, you won’t really see any of such physical changes. More importantly, temperatures changes won’t affect the functions of the glue.

You should be able to reinstall the artificial grass by moving it from one location to another. Artificial grass is just like carpet:

1. Make sure the area you move to is smaller than the from area so your original piece is big enough to cover the new area.

2. You need to know how the initial installation was done so you know what to remove such as nails or infills: when you are removing the turf you don’t damage it.

3. You need to follow the installation guide when reinstalling the turf: https://www.globalsynturf.com/installation-guides

In a simple and easy to understand term, the density of artificial grass tells you how much materials used in the products: the higher the density, the more of materials used, therefore, the more expensive of the turf. The density of artificial grass often reflected of the product specification as “face weight”, in another word, you might not find the term of density on an artificial grass specification sheet, but you will find the face weight on it: it is generally true that the higher of the face weight the higher of the artificial grass density. We design and manufacture our artificial grass products ranging from 40 oz to 92 oz on the face weight, such wide selections provide our customers a huge spectrum of product combinations for different applications purpose: Global Syn-Turf has the largest product selections and inventories in the industry. The density of artificial grass in plain term means how thick of the product is, this is more like a carpet: the higher the density, the more of materials used therefore in general, the product will be more expensive. The density of artificial grass will have the following functionality impacts:

1. Artificial grass with higher overall density  is considered to be better product which will have longer lifespan than lower density turf, this is especially true for areas with more wear and tear. However, the density can not be unlimited, beyond certain point, to be more specific, at about 90 oz or so, higher density beyond that point won’t necessarily provide longer lifespan of the grass any more.

2. Higher density turf tends to stand up better, with more resiliency. Such turf will be less likely to mat down.

This is a very good question. Artificial grass can get hot in hot climates, that is a fact. Our engineers have been working very hard to develop products that can stay as cool as possible during a hot day, we have an unique technology named as "KoolMax" to bring the temperatures of turf down during a normal warm day. However, in order to prevent artificial grass from heating up in an extremely hot climate, I will suggest you to use an excellent infill product to go with your artificial grass, it is called TCool! Using this infill product with your turf, specially given some moisture, your artificial grass can be cooler by 30-50 F degrees in a hot day! Here is the link to our TCool infill: https://www.globalsynturf.com/tcool-infill

This is a really good question. Like carpets which has been around for a long time, of which installation methods haven’t been changed much at all. And I am not sure new methods of artificial grass will have revolutionary changes any time soon. We need to know why the current installation methods make sense for artificial grass:

1. Drainage of water or dog urines is a primary concern for artificial turf installs, which will require a good sub base to be built.

2. A perfectly smooth surface is critical for artificial grass to be laid on to ensure proper looking of your artificial grass, this is a part of sub base building as well.

3. Glues and nails are needed for secure the artificial grass in place and seams.

4. Infills are also required to minimize the expansion and contractions of your artificial grass due to the temperature changes.

Unless we can find ways to resolve reasonings above, I am afraid that the current installation ways will be here to stay for a while. However, being an pioneer of the industry, we have been introducing some easier installation alternatives such as using drain boards but nothing major or revolutionary so far.

Probably not, but the process shouldn't be too difficult to begin with

We carry the best artificial grass seaming tape available on the market. Our seaming tape is made by Mapai, a very reputable and high quality product manufacturer for seaming tape and glues. The seaming tape has to be extremely durable and take on glues well and stable during temperature changes. We offer different width of the seaming tape and offering them at different length. I personally always recommend using the 12” width tape along with our glues for your artificial grass seaming applications you get the best result. I have artificial grass in my backyard and it hasn't faded for 5 years now. I love how new it looks.
I haven't seen faded artificial grass yet. They can either break or shed, but not fade.
Good! This makes my lawn looking fresh and real all year round!
Wow! Glad to know that your warranty covers discoloration. It gives your customers assurance that your artificial grass is authentic.

Generally speaking, artificial grass is fairly easy to install. However, depend on the size of your area, I will always recommend to have a professional installer to do the installation for you so things won’t go wrong. If you let installation doesn’t involve any seaming and you are able to excavate and handle bulk materials such drain rock and decomposed granite, you might be able to give it a try. I contacted an installer because even my area is small, it requires shaping the artificial grass (my area is in oblong shape). It's hard to cut an artificial grass if I'll do it myself.
I installed my artificial grass myself since it's only a small area for my dog, with the help of tutorial thru youtube. :)
