Most of our artificial grass products come in with the same drainage hole patterns, in another word, regardless the thickness of the turf, the amount of drainage holes will be the same. But certain specific products such as our Pet Turf, will have more drainage holes which provide extra drainage capability. Again, most of landscape turf will have the same amount of drain holes, on everage our artificial grass can drain 40-60 inches per hour which equals 3 times of a downpour from category 5 hurricane. So you can always have a peace of mind about our turf’s drainage capability regardless the thickness. We will never recommend to mix turfs for normal projects, even with the same turf, for one project, we will recommend to use the same dyelot. Different artificial grass products are different in color, pile height and density, useless designed specifically, all regular turf projects should avoid mixing different turf. Pretty much so: spread the infills as evenly as possible then use push broom to work the infills into the turf. If your artificial grass area is rather big (more than 500 sf), you can use a seed spreader by setting the speed at max. There are three points worth to be pointed out for Pet Turf vs normal artificial grass:

1. Drainage capacities: our Pet Turf has double amount of drainage holes punched than normal turf.

2. Shorter blade: Pet Turf has a hit short blades to ensure easier cleaning and handle better with dog activities.

3. Durable fibers: Pet Turf blades are engineered “U” shape which make it extremely durable for dogs to play on.

Yes, replacing old artificial grass with new turf will be very easy, especially when the original installation was done properly with right form of sub base. There will be no need of rebuilding the sub base, simply remove the old turf and install the new one. Typically we will recommend to use either bender board or Wonderedge to finish off edges of an artificial grass installation. However, different projects can be different when it comes to final finishing details, the turf can be connected right next to concrete pavement or pavers without any edging materials, only exposed edges to be finished with materials such as bender board or wonderedge. Yes, artificial grass will get much warmer than natural grass during the hot summer days as it is made of plastic resins. We have some unique technologies to address the turf heat issue which reduces the heat buildup compared to other artificial turf but not as close as that to real grass. As of currently, one of the best solutions to keep the artificial grass cool is to use TCool infills which can help bringing the temperature down as much as 50 degrees F. Normal sunlight will warm up the blades of artificial grass and help it standing up better. That is the reason why we always recommend to install turf during a sunny warm day, so less efforts will be required to brushed up the fibers. The short answer is absolutely NO. For the artificial grass installation, gopher wires to be an optional only needed if your area has issues with gophers. When being installed, the gopher wire will go in right after the excavation and before the sub base. Therefore, the gopher wire will be buried under the crushed road base and decomposed granite on top of which will be the artificial grass.
